Our Initiatives

All of the initiatives described below are supported and governed by policies and processes. Some examples of governance are as follows: Aspire Bakeries' Employee Code of Conduct which addresses policies on human rights, child labor, freedom of association, discrimination and harassment, confidentiality, bribery, human trafficking and slavery. Compliance with California Transparency in Supply Chain Act to disclose actions related to slavery and human trafficking. Annual engagement with strategic customers to understand and plan for future supply chain expectations as well as nutrition and health needs.

  • Reducing Carbon Footprint

We've developed 2030 Science-Based Targets for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emission reductions, as well as the efforts that we'll undertake to meet those reduction targets. We reduced our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 11.9% in 2022 compared to 2019 baseline year.

  • Conserving Water

Water is a critical natural resource, so we'll look first to minimize water use in our bakery operations and longer term in our supply chain.

  • Conserving Forests

We conducted a raw material risk assessment to identify the potential impacts of climate change. As a result, we've focused on increased palm oil sustainability throughout our supply chain, increased use of recycled content and promoted recyclability of finished packaging.

  • Respecting Human Rights

We ask all suppliers to sign Aspire's Vendor Code of Conduct and agree to third party audits. Our goal is to ensure that human rights are respected throughout our supply chain.

  • Enhancing Animal Welfare

Aspire Bakeries reports annually on its cage-free eggs transition progress. As of January 1, 2024, we are at 26% cage-free eggs in the U.S. and 21% cage-free eggs in Canada.

  • Supporting Our Local Communities

We're proud of the work we've done to donate food during the COVID pandemic; moving beyond COVID, our bakeries and offices continue to support their local communities.

  • Food Safety/Quality

All of Aspire Bakeries' bakeries are GFSI certified. In support of our goal of world-class quality and food safety, we will continue to enhance our processes and set the highest standards for our bakery team.

  • Human Safety

Aspire Bakeries has an industry leading human safety program. The goal of the program is to provide a safe and healthy workplace; as we look forward, we'll implement initiatives to further increase our safety metrics.

  • Innovation

Aspire Bakeries will continue to innovate internally for improved quality and efficiency. We'll also provide innovative food solutions for our customers to meet consumer trends.
